Brewers acquired Jonathan Broxton from the Reds for two players to be named later. Based on the Brewer BP's performance as of late, this is too little too late. It looks as though Seth Smith and Zach Duke are just worn down. Smiths ERA is now actually over 4.0 and continues to rise. Yet he keeps getting put out in high leverage innings. Gozelanny has been one of the most consistent pitchers as of late but is rarely used. From my vantage point the Brewers are always a bit slow to change things up and seem to drive BP arms into the ground late in the year.

Broxton might help them next year. I've heard Red fans say that he was about to be shut down cause he has been ineffective. Its probably one of those moves thats made just to make it look like they did something to bolster the team.

With the Brewers lack of run production as of late, 13 runs in 6 games if my math is any good, the bullpen won't even be a factor.

Broxton has actually helped you guys so far with a couple shut down innings. You never can tell about trades until a month later. The Redbirds get a lot of pitchers who teams gave up on and then we turn their careers around. The Cards have the best pitching coaching staff in baseball. They teach throwers how to pitch for real. Kyle Lohse is one example. We turned his career around, he was average till ha wore the cardinal and white. Then we let him go cause we didn't want to over pay him and we had Wacha waiting in the wings.
I could go on about our farm system. You probably already no because its no secret when you make the playoffs every year.
