Molina should give the Cards a boost, provided he hasn't lost his swing. The Brewers should be getting Garza back soon as well. Its likely that when Garza comes back Jimmy Nelson would get moved to the bullpen. The Brewers BP has really dropped off in the second half. Should be a great race. Just hope that a team steps up and it isn't won by default. Seems like the entire central division is playing .500 ball at the moment.

With Mo'ne Davis having so much success in the Little League World Series, it would seem a matter of time before women are playing pro baseball. Be it their own league or in the Majors. After all hasn't there already been a female football place kicker? I was watching a game and mind pondering the notion of women playing in the MLB, and I noticed all the guys scratching, spitting and chewing. I wondered how women would take to that. Would baseball have to be cleansed of all scratching, spitting and chewing? Or at least toned down. Or would women ballplayers perhaps spit and chew even more than their male team mates in an effort to fit in.
I met one women while I was attending college in Ely, Minnesota. She claimed that baseball in fact, should have its name changed to 'Scratch. Spit, and Chew.' Actually it made sense, because more of that happens during a ballgame than pitching and hitting combined.
There would need to be new rules. Like the other day, a trainer came out to the mound to trim the laces on the pitchers glove. There is a rule that they have to be trimmed so as not to distract the hitter. I noticed Mo'ne Davis braids were rather long and whipped around when she threw home. Wasn't that distracting to the hitters? Probably not anymore than the Redsox players beards are.
Myself, I'd rather see women have their own league, similar to the PGA and LPGA. If women became the majority of ball players, I think they would ban spitting and chewing. I think there are ballplayers that wouldn't be able to play ball if they couldn't spit. I'm a bit surprised that there are no Sabermetrics on this topic.

Ugh, just watched the Padres beat the Brewers tonight. Neither team deserved to win that game, but somebody had to. Padres walked off in the 10th for a 3-2 victory. Krod has been giving up to many home runs lately. sigh
The Pirates won, so its not all bad.

I've been following the Brewers of course, and they continue to hold off the Cardinals for first place. Thanks in large part to being mostly injury free for the season. Mike Fiers has stepped in nicely when Garza got hurt. The troubling thing is the Brewers are only a game or two over .500 since early May. If they do hang on for a playoff spot, they will need to play better than .500 to go deep into the post season.
The Pirates are another team that really interests me. As I write this the Buccos are 3 and 1/2 games back of the Cards and even closer to the Giants who currently would hold the 2nd WC slot. This is shaping up to be a wild finish with a lot of teams in the hunt for the wild card.

Life is Sport Games (LISG) is the publisher of 'True to Life Baseball. The page sponsored is the 2011 Milwaukee Brewers. It only seams fitting to sponsor a page from the 2011 baseball season since that was the season used to create and test TTLB. The link to the page is here: 2011 Brewer pageThe Baseball-Reference site was used often in the development of the game dynamics. Its nice to be able to make a small contribution to support a site that adds so much to the sport. Hopefully TTLB can sponsor more pages there in the future.

Its alive! The 'True to Life Baseball' game is now available. The link in my signature will take you to the site. I have been so busy working to develop this game, and then getting the website up, that I have spent no time at marketing. I will have to look into that aspect.
It would be fun to get a game playing group started near my location. I live in the Milwaukee area. I was interested in starting a Meet Up group related to baseball Sabermetrics and this game. They don't even have baseball listing as a category of interests. There is also not a single baseball related Meet Up group I can find related to baseball near Milwaukee. Perhaps once enough people become aware of TTLB, I could create a Milwaukee area baseball group. As of this moment, the site hasn't even been active long enough to show up in Google metrics yet. If you live in the Milwaukee area, contact me through pm on this forum or use the contact link at the ttlbaseballgame website. I'd be happy to personally demo the game to anyone.
In the mean time I will be getting this game up at sites related to gaming and baseball. It will probably take a good 6 months to get the word out.

Post in this thread for questions pertaining to how to resolve certain game plays. For now this one thread will cover intro, basic and advanced game versions. If the need arises, a separate thread will be made for each game version.
